What does this type of insurance consist of? This is a recreational diving accident policy that covers unforeseen events that may occur while participating in a recreational diving activity, e.g., requiring medical treatment or a hyperbaric chamber. You can choose between purchasing a policy for less than a year or an annual policy that would cover several individual dives.
Where am I covered? Worldwide excluding - any claim brought against an Insured Member in the U.S. and Canada, as well as their territories and possessions. - claims brought by residents of the U.S. and Canada, as well as their territories and possessions, due to accidents and costs arising in the U.S. and Canada, as well as their territories and possessions.
What are my obligations? − You must take the necessary precautions to provide complete and accurate answers to the questions we ask you when you subscribe to your policy or make changes to it. − To obtain medical assistance while abroad, you must call our assistance number +44 20 8050 1991 before requesting help or as soon as possible. − You must inform us as soon as possible of any situation that may result in a loss. − You must respect and comply with the terms, provisions, conditions, and clauses of this policy. Failure to comply with the above may affect your coverage and any amounts paid in respect of the claim.
Are there any restrictions regarding coverage? - Any dive that does not comply with the guidelines of authorized diving bodies (diving associations affiliated with RSTC, CMAS, EUF) - Diving deeper than 130 meters, unless otherwise agreed - Diving that is undertaken without proper diving certification and/or a lack of experience demonstrated by your logbook records - In the event of a diving accident in any of the territories listed in the International Treatment Advice, you must attend one of the medical centers listed in that section - In the event of a recreational diving accident during the coverage period, you must obtain written authorization from an accredited diving doctor that you are fit to dive following your accident before coverage under the policy is restored
